Overview

Shirley Appleby is an FHT accredited Mindbody Therapist, ILM Wellbeing Coach, Chrysalis Effect Practitioner (specialising in M.E. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia), and Assistive Technology Consultant.
Shirley genuinely understands the difficulties faced when experiencing a stress illness and chronic fatigue as she has recovered herself.

Shirley works from her home clinic and also by Skype/Zoom and Whatsapp.
As a Chrysalis Effect Practitioner, Shirley works as part of a multi-disciplinary cross-referral team; this helps to ensure that she can offer the best possible support to ensure your recovery.

Shirley qualified as a Holistic Therapist in 1998 and has extended her knowledge over the last 22 years. Alongside her therapy work she has work in education and the workplace supporting the assistive technology needs of people with a wide range of complex conditions.

In addition to understanding conditions and how they affect cognition, physical ability, and emotional and mental health Shirley also helps people to understand reasonable adjustment. An understanding of reasonable adjustment is vital in ensuring that someone is supported to succeed in their recovery, work or course of study. Shirley has specialised in understanding these needs alongside her work as a Holistic Therapist helping people to identify reasonable adjustments they can make at home, work or in education to facilitate recovery.

Shirley has studied with the International Federation of Aromatherapy, International Institute of Health & Holistic Therapies, International Institute of Sports Therapy, Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), Chrysalis Effect, British Safety Council, Centre for Accessible environments (CAE), Council for the Advancement of Communication with Deaf People (CACDP), Canterbury Christ Church University, Sciedegger University, the Open College Network and the Jing Institute.
